BACHATA
Bachata is a passionate dance style originating from the Dominican Republic. Known for its close partner connection, subtle hip movements, and heartfelt rhythms, Bachata allows dancers to convey emotion through graceful steps and genuine expression.
Intro Level: Absolute Beginner
Intro Level is for Absolute Beginners. We will cover basic steps & turns, movement, timing, musicality and variations of the steps to get creative.
This course is for new students who want to learn or master the fundamentals of Bachata and ensure you are confident on the dance floor!
Level 1: Beginner
Level 1 is for Beginners. We will cover basic steps & turns, leading & following skills, timing & musicality and variations of the steps in partnerwork to get creative. We offer two cycles 1A and 1B. They can be completed in any order and cover different variations of the fundamental steps to strengthen your foundation.
This course is for new students who want to learn or master the fundamentals of Bachata and ensure you are confident on the dance floor!
Level 2: Advanced Beg.
Must have completed two cycles of both 1A & 1B and/or have a strong foundation of the Beginner Fundamentals of Bachata before taking level 2.
We will go deeper into the creativity of varying steps, movement, and style and you must have a strong foundation of the beginner fundamentals before taking this course.
Level 3: Intermediate
Must have taken at least 6 months of consistent classes in Level 2 AND at least 1 year of dancing socially.
Learn new creative ways to become a better social dancer! We will go deeper into the styles of Bachata and more advanced concepts! We will add dynamics, movement, and style into more challenging footwork and partnerwork.
Open Level Class
Level: Progressive from Advanced Beginner-Intermediate
Pre-Requisite: For students who have passed or tested out of Level 1A & B.
This class integrates footwork and partnerwork in a dynamic "Pattern-based" format. Drawing from concepts covered in Levels 1-3, it offers students practical options for integrating these techniques into their social dance repertoire. Each session focuses on teaching a distinct pattern infused with elements from Levels 1-3. Join us and elevate your skills!
Level 4: Advanced
* Must have taken at least 1 year of consistent classes in Level 2 & 3 AND at least 1.5-2 years of dancing socially. Must have a very strong understanding of Bachata fundamentals, intermediate concepts, and able to execute more advanced footwork and turns on the social dance floor.
We go deeper into your own personal style of Bachata, movement, creation and more advanced concepts! We will add freestyle, advanced movement, and style into more challenging concepts.
